Easter Brunch & Flower Pot Desserts

We went to David Burke Kitchen for Easter brunch today.  My sis, J and I.  It’s such an airy, modern, comfy space, like an urban farmhouse.  The decor was nice – old reclaimed wood, blue and white checkered napkins, denim booths, flowers in steel pails, simple decor.  Maybe it’ll inspire my new apartment decor.  Hmm, who knew I was a farm girl?  First Los Poblanos in Albuquerque, now David Burke Kitchen in NYC.

We all had the prix fixe option since it was a good deal with great options.  For me…a bloody mary, tuna tartare tacos, suckling pig with a prosciutto-fried egg and sour cream apple pie.  The food was good, very rich, the service was good but slow.

My sis had the chocolate mousse cake with hazelnut-chocolate streusel and raspberry jam for dessert, which was served in a mini flower pot.  The presentation was adorable.  For those of you having spring parties or just want to do something fun, why not serve dessert in a flower pot!  Here are some inspirations.
